The idea of the park being a refuge..a RETREAT..a place to escape from the noisy city...a place to COLLECT THOUGHTS...and stop..and sit in peace...the idea of ESCAPISM an OTHER WORDLY place.
The idea that the park is very COMMUNITY focused everyone coming TOGETHER to enjoy the park, sit together, walk around together...perhaps some sort of communal seating area...
You can see it is keen on EDUCATING young children in the city that would not normally get to see nature, they are DISCOVERING the UNKNOWN and INTERACTING with their surroundings creating an EXCITING atmosphere about the park.
From this the key ideas so far are ESCAPISM, COMMUNITY, INTERACTION, EDUCATION, EXCITEMENT, THE UNKNOWN, DISCOVERY.
I love the idea of thought collection....where people can come and enjoy the park and let their worries/dreams go. Some sort of interactive 'thing' where the community can contribute to it.
Like the Love Padlocks in Florence.....
People write a message of love on a padlock, attach it to the fence or lampost...wherever...and throw away the key. It creates beautiful shapes and imagery.
I also find dead-drops very interesting. If no-ones heard of this before go to http://www.deadrops.com/
It will explain everything there. But the basic idea is Hidden usb ports all over the world in unusual places...in walls and fences/steps etc. Anyone can make one, but the idea is for people to swap and share information...take your laptop and plug it in to one of the ports and someone who was there before you would have left something for you....and then you can upload something onto the memory stick for the next person etc etc........I thought it was relevant as it is about sharing information/thoughts in an unusal way, it'd be nice to share thoughts within the Kings Cross community.
